From a winery near the picturesque hamlet of Monteriggioni, the Lornano 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Le Bandite is all Sangiovese from a vineyard with especially sandy and well-draining soils. Production is 20,000 bottles. This pretty wine shows big intensity, with hints of summer ripeness, expressed as dried cherry and crème de cassis. The wine is mid-weight in texture with balanced freshness.
